Jordan Murai hit a game-winning single in the 10th inning as the University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team beat Academy of Art 2-1 in a Pacific West Conference game Monday night at Wong Stadium.

Casey Bohlmann picked up the win with 3 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and one walk and struck out five. Jeremy Dela Cruz pitched 6 2/3 inning of one-run ball in a no-decision.

Ryan Donahoe took the loss.

The Vulcans (13-32, 10-26) managed just five hits against the Urban Knights (5-38, 5-28), the conference’s worst team.

The second game ended after the Tribune-Herald’s deadline.

UHH concludes its season with a doubleheader, starting at 4 p.m. today.

Kickboxing tourney Saturday at Civic

A kickboxing tournament for all ages will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Hilo Civic.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $10 with a non-perishable food item.

Athletic combine June 16 at Kam

Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance will hold a Big Island combine June 16 at the Kamehameha campus.

It is open to student-athletes in all sports. The first 100 registered receive Under Armour heat gear T-shirt.

The PIAA combine is the longest running combine in the Pacific, with 11 years experience and results being distributed to over 600 colleges.

Ka‘u High open coaching positions

Ka‘u High School is accepting head coach applications for football, cross country, boys and girls basketball.
